Featured below is a video about a series of film portraits revolving around women photographers who have devoted themselves to filming how horses live in the wild. It is called “Strong Women, Wild Horses”. The amazing group of ladies have managed to document areas like the Great Basin, which is one of the few remaining untamed places in the USA where you can find free-roaming horses.

The short film shows us the beauty of the wild horses and also divulges how these horses are caught in the middle of a fierce land battle. While ranching industries force for more land for cattle, oil producers are trying to extend massive pipelines across the country. However, none of the parties have thought about the effects they are causing on the lives of the animals in that area. They are living in a war zone. And thankfully, these photographers are there to capture all of it. They show us beauty of the horses living in the wild and the tragedy as they are being driven to extinction.
